Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. The successful actress began her career as an actor by performing on stage, through a variety of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost her hearing in the left ear. However, she did not let it stop her from performing. The college she attended was drama after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged an acting role as a support in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over thirty years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
